Andy Sanschagrin is one of the Founders of Summit Basketball and a passionate coach dedicated to creating meaningful basketball opportunities for the English-speaking community of Quebec City.
With over 7 years of coaching experience at the high school level, Andy has worked with athletes ranging from elementary school players to college-level competitors. He is a PNCE Level 2 Certified Coach and has also gained valuable experience as an Assistant Coach with the Dynamiques du Cégep de Sainte-Foy Men's Basketball D1 program, contributing to the development of high-level athletes.
Before creating Summit Basketball, Andy founded 1HEART Basketball, where he spent 3 years developing programs at St. Patrick's High School to support the growth of basketball within the English-speaking community. Through camps, training sessions, and development programs, he has helped hundreds of athletes improve their skills while building confidence and character.
For Andy, coaching is about much more than basketball. The most important responsibility of a coach is developing leaders both on and off the court.
He believes in creating an environment built on accountability, respect, and personal growth. By setting clear expectations and holding athletes to high standards while maintaining a positive and supportive atmosphere, players learn to challenge themselves, develop intrinsic motivation, and become better teammates and individuals.
Andy believes that success comes from hard work, humility, and a genuine love for the game. Through leading by example, he strives to create a culture where athletes can compete, grow, and stay true to the values that make basketball such a powerful sport.
